A native of North Carolina, Dan was raised in a fine Christian home. However, the negative influences of peer pressure soon took its toll on Dan’s life. Experimenting with drugs and alcohol only led to a life of loneliness and depression, and Dan realized his life was going nowhere. Even the popularity and status as a high school football and track. All-Conference member didn’t fill the emptiness he felt inside. Then something very supernatural happened. Attending a movie presentation at his family’s church, Dan came face to face with reality and fell under the conviction of the Holy Spirit concerning his eternal destiny. His life was radically changed as he gave his heart to Jesus Christ. He was moved with compassion for those around him and took every opportunity to share Christ, both on and off the field. After graduation, he operated a Christian coffee house and led a T.V. program on a local Christian television station. During this time, Dan sensed God’s call on his life for full-time ministry and enrolled in Columbia International University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in the spring of 1983. He, his wife Kim and their two children, reside in Goldsboro, NC.
Dan is a gifted communicator with over 25 years of experience serving as an evangelist, youth pastor, and missionary, while in college he traveled with various outreach teams throughout Europe and also with Barry Mayson in high school and prison ministry, Dan has worked with Youth With A Mission in Central America as an outreach coordinator and served as youth pastor for two of the fastest growing churches in North Carolina. As an ordained minister, Dan understands the importance of the ministry in the local churches. Therefore, he bases his ministry underneath the covering of his local church where he is tithing member and itinerant evangelist of the church. He is now the president and founder of Dan Ham International, Inc. He oversees its three departments of outreach ministry: International Youth Ministries, Dan Ham Communications, and Hambone Records. As an author, recording artist and speaker, Dan has a fresh and dynamic approach to ministry. He is available worldwide as an evangelist, concert artist and motivational speaker for church services, evangelistic outreaches, youth functions, crusades, prisons, camps and wherever the Spirit of God is leading. He is also a popular speaker at schools and conventions.
To date, Dan has recorded four albums as a solo artist with thousands of units sold. His music and speaking ministry has taken him to over 30 nations. To best summarize Dan’s music take the laid back sounds of the classic rock and pop of the 70’s/80’s and mix it with the fusion of a little rap, ballads, grunge, disco, and techno dance….and there you go. the music of Dan Ham! His desire to remain true to his roots in 70’s/80’s but to incorporate musical styles for all generations keeps Dan in demand as a concert artist. Even with the change from music style from song to song one thing that will never change is his commitment to the message behind the music. Leading his audience to the foot of the cross is his mission. The same Creator of the universe is the same Creator of music. Dan and his record label, Hambone Records, are committed to keep ministry as the focus of all they do musically. His music may be found on all online music sites such as iTunes, in record retail centers and book stores, and on his fan page in Facebook in addition to this web site. Dan’s latest recording “Where I Belong” was recorded entirely in the Philippines. It is known to be the first Christian music album of any genre to ever be recorded inside the country using all Filipino musicians, and to be released exclusively inside the Philippines! Some of the country’s top musicians, singers, and engineers were brought in to offer their talents to this record. There are even two Tagalog love songs recorded as bonus tracks on the album with plans to release them as “cross-over” songs on mainstream secular radio
